Designing Emotion: The Power of Theatrical Storytelling in Hospitality Design

For the past 18 months, I’ve had the privilege of designing an absolute dream project: an immersive theater for Wynn Al Marjan in the UAE. While I can’t reveal any concept drawings until the opening in about a year and a half, the creative journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.

As my imagination keeps expanding, I’ve been exploring what an Art Deco inspired theater could become when there are no structural height limitations. Picture a soaring foyer with a sweeping grand staircase rising toward the balcony levels, with soft, voluminous forms illuminated in warm gold tones, creating a cinematic glow that invites guests into a world of theatrical magic.

Design is storytelling. And this story is just beginning.
